Our Founder
Word from the Founder of Ubuntu Wellbeing Family Clinic
“The problem we are solving is the significant barrier to mental healthcare access faced by individuals in underserved communities South Africa. Many people in these communities experience mental health challenges but lack access to essential services due to socioeconomic factors, stigma, and a shortage of qualified mental health professionals. This results in untreated mental health issues that can affect individuals’ overall well-being, productivity, and quality of life.”
“The absence of mental health education further exacerbates the situation, leaving many individuals unaware of available resources and coping strategies. Additionally, the demand for mental health support is increasing, yet existing services often do not accommodate the financial constraints of those in need. Many individuals cannot afford traditional counseling fees, which can prevent them from seeking help. By offering community workshops and individual counseling on a sliding scale fee, Ubuntu Wellbeing Family Clinic addresses this gap”
